Data deletion
Remove local app data or request deletion of support correspondence.
There is no app account to close. Use the steps below to remove device data or request deletion of support records. Uninstalling or clearing app data does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
1. Decide what you want to delete
Ordinary photos and videos
Shared gallery media and exported edits remain on the device after uninstall. Delete the files using Neo Gallery or another authorized gallery/file manager. Copies you shared or backed up through other services must be managed there.
Vault and app-private data
Vault files, app-managed recycle-bin copies, favourites, settings and caches are private app data. Restore or export any files you want to keep before clearing this data. We cannot recover lost vault data or keys.
2. Delete local app data yourself
- Restore/export any vault or recycle-bin files you wish to keep.
- For individual files, use the app's delete and recycle-bin controls. Eligible expired bin entries are cleaned up when the app next runs its cleanup, not at a guaranteed time while it is closed.
- To remove app-private data, open Android Settings → Apps → Neo Gallery → Storage & cache → Clear storage / Clear data. Names vary by device.
- Uninstalling Neo Gallery also removes its private app storage. Neither operation automatically erases ordinary shared gallery files, exported photos, support emails or records already held by Google services.
Remove Special access
To remove a developer-issued Special access grant, open Settings, scroll to the Android/API and app-version card, tap it three times quickly, and choose Deactivate. This returns Premium access to its normal purchase state and does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Clearing app storage or uninstalling also removes the grant; export any vault or recycle-bin files you want to keep first. The same valid code can be entered again after reinstalling.
3. Request deletion of support records
Email neogallery.support@gmail.com with the subject Data Deletion Request — Neo Gallery. Prefer the address you used to contact support. Mention the approximate correspondence date and which records you want deleted.
Do not send a vault PIN, pattern, password, full payment-card details or unnecessary private photos. We may ask for limited information to verify the request. We review and respond within applicable legal deadlines; there is no guaranteed 48–72-hour permanent-erasure promise. We explain completion, any identification limits, and any records that must be retained for a legitimate legal or dispute-related reason.
4. Google service data and purchases
Advertising, Analytics, Crashlytics and Google Play records have separate retention and deletion processes. An email address alone may not identify a pseudonymous app installation or crash record. Contact us for assistance, and we will explain the available process rather than promise deletion of records we cannot identify or control. To stop subscription renewal, use Google Play subscriptions. Cancel the Neo Gallery subscription before its next renewal. Access normally continues until the paid period ends. Deletion, uninstall and cancellation do not automatically request a refund; see Google Play refund information.
